West Ham United could look to loan out Josh Cullen before the end of the month.

West Ham United midfielder Josh Cullen has admitted to the London Evening Standard that he’s been in discussions about leaving the London Stadium before the end of the month.

Cullen is regarded as one of West Ham’s better prospects, but his chances of breaking into their first-team currently look slim.

West Ham have plenty of other options in midfield, and Cullen says that he is open to the idea of going out on loan in January to get game time.

“Yeah there have been conversations going on,” Cullen said.

“It’s not that I’ve decided totally whether I am staying or going; at the minute I’m here, just taking each day as it comes and trying to impress the manager.

“First and foremost I want to be playing for West Ham, but if the manager says to me ‘there’s the right loan there’ then I’ll go and get some games up until January, come back and look at it then.

“I haven’t put a time limit on it, I’m still striving for it so whether that is coming and playing in the [U]23s, going out on loan or staying and learning off a top manager and brilliant players at the club, whatever is best for me.”

Cullen is used to playing regular football now, after a series of loan spells over recent times.

The West Ham youngster has impressed at both Bradford City and Bolton Wanderers in the lower divisions.

If Cullen is made available it seems likely that plenty of Championship sides would be open to taking him on a temporary basis.

Cullen is currently in competition with the likes of Mark Noble, Pedro Obiang, Carlos Sanchez and Jack Wilshere for a place in West Ham’s central midfield.
