West Ham United will be looking to secure a top ten finish in the Premier League in these closing few months of the season.
West Ham ace Declan Rice has admitted on Twitter that he is ‘already looking forward to the summer’ after making his England debut after the international break.
Last Friday, the 20-year-old came off the bench during the Three Lions 5-0 win over the Czech Republic in their opening Euro 2020 qualifier. He was then given his first start during his country’s 5-1 win in Monetengro on Monday night.
In both games, Rice looked comfortable and composed on the ball as Gareth Southgate’s attacking front line ran riot with the likes of Harry Kane, Raheem Sterling, Ross Barkley and Callum Hudson-Odoi all standing out.
Nonetheless, after the match, Rice took to his personal Twitter account to express his delight at representing England and earning his first competitive start.
Defensive-midfielder Rice will now turn his attention to club matters and helping West Ham potentially secure their place in the Premier League’s top 10.
The Hammers are currently sitting in ninth position, but they can drop out of the top 10 if they lose at home to 11th-place Everton who visit the London Stadium on Saturday evening.
There is no doubt that Rice has been one of West Ham’s best players this season and the highly-rated youngster has arguably been the best performing number six in the Premier League.
