West Ham United have been strongly linked with Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere recently.

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal are being forced to reduce their asking price for unwanted players lower and lower to attract interest.

Arsenal are looking to sell a number of fringe players to reduce their wage bill.

The Gunners want to finance a bid for Monaco’s Thomas Lemar, but realise that they need to free up some funds before bringing in the French international.

As things stand Arsenal are struggling to offload the players Arsene Wenger has made available.

Arsenal’s squad players are said to not be willing to take wage cuts, and have been turning down offers.

The Gunners, therefore, are having to constantly reduce their asking prices and that could play right into West Ham’s hands.

The Hammers have been heavily linked with Jack Wilshere in recent times by the Daily Express.

Although the club have batted the rumours away recently, Slaven Bilic has previously told the Daily Star that he is an admirer of Wilshere.

And the central midfielder may just become too big a bargain to resist for West Ham, if his asking price continues to drop.

Wilshere may have struggled for fitness, but his quality is clear and he would be a great addition for Bilic’s squad.

And if West Ham continue to wait before making a bid, it may just be that Wilshere’s rock-bottom asking price makes him too tempting an option for West Ham to turn down.
