Anton Ferdinand would love to see Mauricio Pochettino become West Ham United boss – but thinks has unfinished business at Tottenham Hotspur.
It doesn’t sound like West Ham have plans to move on from David Moyes any time soon though.
Ferdinand has told Sky Sports in recent days that he wants Pochettino as a replacement for David Moyes should the Scot lose his job.
Ferdinand believes Pochettino’s style of football was ‘fantastic’ at Tottenham and would love to see that at West Ham.
Yet Ferdinand does ultimately believe that Pochettino has ‘unfinished business’ at Tottenham and may end up back there this summer.
Pochettino left Spurs in 2019, just months after guiding Tottenham to the Champions League final against Liverpool.
Antonio Conte now looks set to leave Tottenham and all the talk at the moment is about Pochettino returning to North London.
Ferdinand thinks Daniel Levy would have to swallow some pride to bring Pochettino back, but ultimately thinks it’s a win-win situation for Spurs.
“As a West Ham fan, if Moyes was to be relieved of his duties, that’s someone that I’d want West Ham to go for, is Pochettino,” said Ferdinand. “You’ve seen his football was fantastic at Tottenham. He got the best out of the players that he had there; the energy and the way that he had the team playing was fantastic,” he added.
“But with Tottenham, I think he’s got unfinished business and going back into Tottenham – Daniel Levy might have to swallow a bit of pride – but him having a point to prove, I think it would be a win-win,” he added.

David Moyes seemingly isn’t going anywhere as Mauricio Pochettino to West Ham seems like a pipe dream
Ferdinand may have to park his dreams of a Pochettino move to West Ham.
The Telegraph report that David Sullivan has no intention of sacking David Moyes and wants to stick by him.
Moyes and West Ham have won just three of their last 16 Premier League games and are in the bottom three ahead of facing Aston Villa today.
West Ham are in very real danger of being relegated this season and this loyalty to Moyes is a real gamble.
The Scot needs results quickly and fans were heard turning against him at Brighton and Hove Albion last weekend.
Let’s be real, Pochettino to West Ham always felt like a bit of a pipe dream even if the Hammers do have some pulling power.
Should the Tottenham job become available, you can imagine that Pochettino would jump at it and leave Ferdinand’s dream in tatters.
For now, it’s just about Moyes getting results. If West Ham make a change this summer then so be it, but the Hammer must be a Premier League club next season no matter who is in charge.
