West Ham United boss David Moyes thinks he has found the ideal winger to support Jarrod Bowen by targeting a move for Lyon star Tete.
That’s according to talkSPORT, who claim that West Ham are hoping to sign Tete at the end of the season.
Tete’s situation has been impacted heavily by the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
Tete is contracted to Shakthar Donetsk but FIFA gave foreign players permission to leave Ukraine and play elsewhere.
Players like Vinicius Tobias, Vitao and Maycon have all gone out on loan away from Shakhtar and Tete has followed suit.
The winger signed on loan for Lyon until the end of the season but he could be on the move permanently.
It’s claimed in the report that Tete will become a sought-after free agent this summer when his Lyon deal ends.
Yet when his Lyon deal ends he technically returns to Shakhtar, where he is under contract until December 2023.
That means West Ham may not be able to sign Tete for free unless FIFA allow impacted players to tear up their contracts.
Moyes still seems keen on Tete regardless and believes he can really help Bowen and Michail Antonio in the final third.

Tete, 22, racked up nine goals in 17 league games for Shakhtar this season before heading to Lyon.
Tete has only played five times for Lyon but has already managed one goal and one assist.
The Brazilian will likely look to leave Shakhtar this summer and he will understandably attract plenty of interest.
West Ham are far from alone in the race for Tete with Leicester, Southampton and Brentford also understood to be interested.
Primarily a right-sided winger, Tete can add another attacking threat to the West Ham side without breaking the bank.
Having just bowed out of the Europa League semi-finals, you can expect David Moyes to bring in a number of signings this summer to try and keep West Ham moving forward.
