Could the Stoke City striker be off to West Ham United this month?

One bookmaker has listed West Ham United as contenders to sign Stoke City striker Peter Crouch before 3rd February.

Chelsea have been linked with a surprise move for the former England international this month, and are 3/1 favourites to win his signature with Paddy Power.

But West Ham are next on the bookie’s list at 8/1, ahead of Wolverhampton Wanderers [10/1], Celtic [12/1], Newcastle United and Sunderland [both 14/1].

West Ham could be without Andy Carroll for the next three months, and bringing in Crouch would help to restore some aerial threat the Hammers’ front line.

Crouch, who turns 37 later this month, recently signed a new one-year contract at Stoke.

That was, however, before Mark Hughes’ sacking, and new boss Paul Lambert may have alternative plans for the former Tottenham Hotspur player – while signing a new striker could be high on the Scot’s agenda, with no Potters player having scored more than five goals this season.
