Former West Ham United star Tony Gale has his say on the Dimitri Payet situation.
Speaking on Sky Sports’ Premier League Daily at 10:05 am on January 17th, ex-Hammer Tony Gale explained how he would be surprised if one of West Ham’s senior figures hasn’t had a word with wantaway star Dimitri Payet, after his diabolical actions over this past week or so.
In a strange twist of fate, however, the 29-year-old wanting to leave has seemingly brought the players, manager and fanbase together, and almost created a kind of siege mentality.

The Frenchman will surely be sold this month, but Gale shared how he would be shocked if a senior Hammers figure had not pulled him to one side and had a serious chat with him, telling Sky Sports’ Premier League Daily:
“I would still be surprised if James Collins, who’s a proper bloke, hasn’t said something to him, like ‘pull your finger out’. You’re playing for the football club and if you don’t think you’re playing for the football club, you’re playing for us, get on with it.”

Whilst it is obvious that there is no future for Payet in East London, the club must do all they can to ensure that they get the absolute maximum amount of money for his services, because despite his poor attitude, and advancing years, he is still one of the most talented players in the game.
And if and when they do sell the 29-year-old, Slaven Bilic must then make it his priority to reinvest any fee they receive for him into the playing squad.
