West Ham United are a potential destination for Lille winger Jonathan Bamba this summer, but face a major battle for his signature.

That’s according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport, who claim that Bamba could be on the move this summer.

It’s stated that Bamba is attracting plenty of interest with West Ham far from the only club interested.

Atalanta, Sevilla and Bayer Leverkusen are interested too, with an asking price of around £16.5millon on Bamba’s head.

West Ham are right in the hunt though and will hope to lure the Frenchman to East London this summer.

The Hammers were chasing Bamba last summer according to The Express and seemingly haven’t given up hope of signing him.

Bamba, 25, is full of pace and trickery but has been enduring something of a difficult season this term.

Primarily a left-sided winger, Bamba has played 19 Ligue 1 games this season but still doesn’t have a goal to his name.

Bamba has at least chipped in with two assists, but that wait for an elusive first goal of the season looks to beading into March.

West Ham fans may be concerned by the idea of spending considerable money on a player who is struggling to score, but this is far from the first Premier League link for Bamba.

Last year, Sky Sports reported that Tottenham were looking towards Bamba as a possible replacement for loanee Gareth Bale.

Tottenham didn’t end up doing a deal for Bamba, preferring not to replace Bale at all in last summer’s transfer window.

Bamba could still find himself to London now, with West Ham seemingly big fans of the wide man and potentially positioning themselves for a summer deal.
