West Ham United attempted to sign Michy Batshuayi from Chelsea during the January transfer window, according to reports.

According to the Daily Mail, Michy Batshuayi is now valued at £50 million by Chelsea, which surely means West Ham United have missed their chance to sign him.

West Ham were heavily linked with a move for Batshuayi throughout the January transfer window but were unable to get a deal over the line.

Sky Sports reported how West Ham wanted Batshuayi as part of a deal which would have taken Andy Carroll to Chelsea.

The Hammers also wanted Batshuayi last summer, when he was available, but would not pay his asking price back then.

And it seems that David Moyes’ side’s chances of signing Batshuayi in the upcoming transfer window are now non-existent.

Batshuayi was sent out on loan to Borussia Dortmund in January, and his form in the Bundesliga has significantly raised his asking price.

West Ham will now surely have to look elsewhere, if they want to bring in a new striker in January, as he has become too expensive for them to afford.
