West Ham United need to find another striker in January, and are plotting a move to sign Hellas Verona hitman Giovanni Simeone.
That’s according to a report from The Express, who claim that Simeone is at the top of West Ham’s striker shortlist for January.
West Ham have held a long-standing interest in Simeone and tried to sign him twice already this year.
The Hammers looked into signing Simeone during the January transfer window having sold Sebastien Haller to Ajax.
West Ham looked again over the summer, seeking a loan deal with a view to a £14million permanent move.
That didn’t happen though, and Simeone ended up joining Verona instead.
The 26-year-old – the son of Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone – has been on fire this season.

Branded ‘really impressive’ by Verona boss Igor Tudor, Simeone has bagged nine goals and two assists in just 10 games for Verona.
It’s no great surprise that Simeone is now attracting interest off the back of his Verona displays.
West Ham clearly rate the Argentinian highly and could now look to tempt Verona into exercising their permanent option before selling him straight to East London.
