West Ham United want Gianluca Scamacca and are now keen to hijack his potential move to French champions Paris Saint-Germain.
The Hammers have added a new centre back in Nayef Aguerd and new midfielder in Flynn Downes whilst securing loan goalkeeper Alphonse Areola permanently.
The focus must now turn to adding attacking options to David Moyes’ squad with Michail Antonio in desperate need of help.
West Ham have been linked with a number of strikers this summer and it now seems that they are focusing intently on Scamacca.
West Ham United want Gianluca Scamacca
Reports in June suggested that West Ham were told to pay £39million for Sassuolo striker Scamacca and weren’t put off by those demands.
The rumour went quiet as it looked like Scamacca would be joining French champions Paris Saint-Germain instead.
Yet Get French Football News now report that West Ham have made contact with Sassuolo over a potential move to hijack PSG’s deal for Scamacca.
The problem is that Scamacca isn’t interested in joining West Ham and is giving full priority to PSG having already agreed personal terms with the club.
Sky Sports add that Sassuolo want €50million (£42million) for Scamacca and PSG currently have no intention of paying that fee.

That has given West Ham hope as they are prepared to pay that asking price, but it may hing on Scamacca’s plans.
Fabrizio Romano has also reported that PSG aren’t willing to offer more money with Gianluca Di Marzio reporting the same.
It seems that West Ham really are pushing to beat PSG to this deal and what a statement of intent that would be.
6ft 5in target man Scamacca was outstanding in Serie A last season, bagging 16 goals in 36 Serie A games.
Scamacca is even being likened to Robert Lewandowski in a huge comparison, and West Ham will now be working to bring him to East London.
