West Ham United want Gerson and agents are working to get the Brazilian midfielder out of Marseille in the January transfer window.
West Ham are suddenly being linked with a host of Brazilian players.
Sao Paulo defender Luizao has been heavily linked in recent days and Udinese centre back Rodrigo Becao is being touted too.
Maybe Lucas Paqueta is proving to be a major pull for West Ham and he may have some Brazilian pals to work with in East London.

West Ham United want Gerson
The latest name in the mix is Marseille star Gerson.
Goal Brasil claim that intermediary agents have been asked to find Gerson another club for January.
Teams in Spain and England are being targeted specifically and it’s stated that West Ham have emerged as a real option.
It’s stated that Gerson will cost around €20million (£17million) and that means a return to Brazil with Flamengo has been ruled out.
Marseille are allegedly ‘irritated’ by Gerson’s attempts to leave and West Ham may not be all that happy with his father’s actions.
The report claims that father Marcao was spreading an alleged agreement with Flamengo and West Ham weren’t best pleased.
This sounds like a strange situation but West Ham could still be tempted into a move for the Brazilian.
Gerson, 25, emerged with Fluminense before heading to Roma in 2016, where he struggled to really make an impact.
Gerson got back on track with Flamengo and earned himself a 2021 move to Marseille.
11 goals in all competitions last season was a decent record but Gerson has only started six league games this season.
Igor Tudor seemingly isn’t viewing Gerson as a key player but West Ham may have been keen to see him join forces with Lucas Paqueta.
West Ham may need some convincing given the strange ongoings around Gerson and he is a name to keep an eye on ahead of the January window.
