West Ham United signed Ashley Fletcher from Manchester United, and Newcastle United and Southampton players were quick to congratulate him on the move.
Newcastle United forward Ivan Toney and Southampton winger Lloyd Isgrove have both sent messages of congratulations to West Ham United new boy Ashley Fletcher on Twitter.
Fletcher moved from Manchester United to West Ham yesterday, becoming Slaven Bilic’s sixth signing of the summer so far.
The 20-year-old opted against renewing his contract at Old Trafford, to move to the Hammers, where he feels his career prospects will be enhanced.
The move has raised eyebrows, but both Toney and Isgrove feel that Fletcher has made a smart switch.
Fletcher linked up with Toney and Isgrove last season, with the trio all on loan at Barnsley.
The three players all helped the Tykes achieve promotion from League One through the play offs.
Toney will now be hoping to make an impact at Newcastle next season, with Rafael Benitez’s side playing in the Championship.
Isgrove, meanwhile, could head out on loan again – with a host of Championship sides said to be chasing the Welsh international (Yorkshire Post).
