West Ham United defender Issa Diop impressed against Manchester United.

Diop was singled out for praise by United boss Jose Mourinho after West Ham won 3-1 on Saturday.
The centre-back helped limit United’s attacking threat, with a commanding performance in defence.
But Diop, who cost West Ham £21 million to sign this summer (Football London), insists that he was far from his best against United.
“It is good for my confidence but I don’t think I played that good. I need to improve and work harder,” Diop said.
If Diop really wasn’t at his best against United, then his comments should excite West Ham fans.

The youngster looked very impressive for the Hammers, and seems to be growing into his role.
If Diop does have room to improve, then he could easily become one of the finest young centre-backs in the Premier League.
The Frenchman appears to have skill and power, and very few centre-backs are going to enjoy coming up against him, if Diop maintains his current standards.
