West Ham United youngster Declan Rice has taken to social networking site Twitter to express his delight at being named the U19 International Player of the Year at the FAI awards.
Rice, who can operate as a central defender or as a defensive midfielder, has also revelled in being called up to the Republic of Ireland’s senior squad for the first time.
The 19-year-old youngster has taken to Twitter to express his delight and have received some very positive responses from West Ham fans.
Rice is a very talented and promising young player who has broken into the West Ham first team this campaign.
The versatile youngster has made seven starts and 11 substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Hammers so far this season.
According to The Daily Mail, Rice earns £10,000 per week as salary at the Hammers at the moment.
The report has also claimed that the Hammers want to hand the teenager a new contract that will see him earn £25,000 per week.
