West Ham United beat Everton 3-1 at Goodison Park today.

West Ham United finally picked up their first points of the Premier League season as they convincingly beat Everton 3-1 at Goodison Park this afternoon.
The Hammers came into the game having lost each of their four league games under new boss Manuel Pellegrini, with many expecting a major response after the international break, having lost 1-0 to Wolves in their last outing.
The travelling Hammers fans got exactly what they wanted, as they saw their side blow Everton away, starting with Marko Arnautovic breaking clear of the defence before finding Andriy Yarmolenko, who hit home the opener from close range.
Poor distribution from Everton stopper Jordan Pickford saw Yarmolenko gain possession down the right flank, and he was able to cut inside and curl home a stunning second on his left foot for the Hammers.
Midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson did pull one back for Everton before the break with a fine header from Jonjoe Kenny’s cross, but West Ham manager to see out the storm and even managed to kill the game off when Pedro Obiang found Arnautovic, who converted to make it 3-1.
West Ham had a couple of late scares, with Oumar Niasse hitting the crossbar, but they have returned to East London with all three points, and a host of stars impressed in claret and blue today.

One such player was midfielder Obiang, who provided the burst of energy that West Ham have been lacking in midfield, whilst his pass for Arnautovic’s second was perfect too.
Obiang almost left the club this summer for a return to former club Sampdoria, but he showed why he should be integral to Pellegrini’s plans, and West Ham fans took to Twitter to admit they’re relieved that he stayed, calling him ‘different gravy’, ‘sensational’ and ‘phenomenal’, whilst noting that it may have been his best West Ham performance yet.
