Time will tell whether West Ham wind up signing Mario on a permanent basis. He has plenty of ability but it hasn’t been a brilliant start to life in English football.
Mario is rated at over £25 million and the Irons already wasted a lot of money in last summer’s transfer window, be it on transfer fees or Joe Hart’s wages, and spending big on another potential dud is a risk.
