West Ham United are said to be closing in on a deal to sign Gary Medel from Besiktas.

West Ham United fans do not appear too keen on the idea that they are signing Gary Medel.
According to Fanatik in Turkey, West Ham are very close to agreeing a deal for the Besiktas midfielder.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side may need another defensive midfielder, especially with Pedro Obiang about to depart.
But there are a number of West Ham fans who are sceptical over the value of bringing in Medel.
West Ham will be left short in midfielder if Obiang does leave, but whether Medel is an upgrade is up for debate.
Medel’s last spell in England was not a success, as he was relegated with Cardiff.
If Medel was to arrive at West Ham he would likely only be brought in as a covering option.
Declan Rice looks likely to start at West Ham’s main shield in midfield next season, but Medel could add competition for places at the London Stadium.
