West Ham United picked up a point on Tuesday night, as they drew 0-0 away at Southampton.

The Hammers were looking to build on the 2-2 draw with Brighton and Hove Albion, but couldn’t find the net against the Saints.

Danny Ings had a first-half strike ruled out with Che Adams offside in the build-up, but West Ham had arguably the biggest chance of all.

The ball fell inside the box to Said Benrahma with just moments to go, but Alex McCarthy saved his shot and secured a point.

Benrahma didn’t feature against Brighton, but came on for half an hour at Southampton as David Moyes looked to change the game.

The Algerian attacker hasn’t quite got going since joining West Ham from Brentford in October, with fans looking for him to be more involved.

After the final whistle at Southampton, Moyes suggested to Football.London that he expected the 25-year-old to score, though did accept that McCarthy had made a great save.

West Ham fans weren’t impressed though, suggesting that Moyes needs to give Benrahma more game time to get him sharp for chances like the one against Southampton.

Others joked that Moyes will now bench Benrahma forever and can’t wait to have an excuse not to play him, whilst branding his comments ‘harsh’.
