West Ham United fans aren’t jumping for joy over the thought of signing the next Andy Carroll.
The Sun reported on Thursday that West Ham United are interested in signing Hartlepool hitman Connor Simpson.
The 17-year-old has been drawn comparisons with West Ham striker Andy Carroll for his left foot and 6’5 frame.
The North Yorkshire-born man does not turn 18 until January and the Irons can sign him for just £60,000, according to The Sun.
However, the English publication has claimed that the fee will rise significantly if Simpson progresses into the Hammers’ first team eventually.
West Ham fans are struggling to accept the real Carroll at the moment, with the towering former Newcastle striker failing to score in four Premier League games.
And suffice to say that supporters of the East London club aren’t hugely impressed by the prospect of signing Carroll 2.0.

West Ham, who sit two points clear of the drop zone with seven points from seven games, haven’t had a great start to the season, but they beat Swansea 1-0 last time around and a win at the in-form Clarets could boost the collective morale.
