West Ham United’s Arthur Masuaku is being linked away at the moment.
Reports from Italy are worrying West Ham United fans.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Roma and Monaco are interested in signing West Ham star Arthur Masuaku this month.
What’s more worrying is the line about the Irons only wanting around £15 million for his signature.
That part is very unlikely to be accurate, but the bit about him courting interest from top European clubs is plausible, given the way in which he has performed since David Moyes replaced Slaven Bilic in East London.
Masuaku has gone from bit-part player to important first-team regular under the new-ish West Ham manager and losing him this month – or indeed next summer – would be a bitter pill to swallow.
Hammers fans have started taking to him more and more in recent months, and they haven’t reacted positively to the speculation – and especially regarding his reported valuation.
They probably wouldn’t be concerned about losing him this month, given that it gives Moyes very little time in which to replace him, but if Masuaku maintains a certain standard for the next six months then speculation will only intensify.
The good news for them is that he will still have two years to go on his contract come this summer and West Ham are therefore in a position of relative strength.
