According to Sky Sports, West Ham are interested in signing Gomes from Barcelona in the summer transfer window.
It has been reported that the Hammers have made a bid of £18 million for the central midfielder, who spent the 2018-19 season on loan at Premier League rivals Everton from Barca.
The report, though, has claimed that the London club’s offer has been turned down, with the Spanish and European giants looking for a transfer fee between £25 million and £35 million.
Gomes has struggled to make an impact at Barcelona since his move from La Liga rivals Valencia in the summer of 2016, but the Portugal international was superb for Everton this season.
The central midfielder made 24 starts and three substitute appearances in the Premier League for Everton this season, scoring one goal and providing one assist in the process, according to WhoScored.
