West Ham United continue to be linked with potential new signings ahead of Friday’s domestic transfer deadline, with a new attacker wanted.

Brentford ace Said Benrahma has been heavily linked, though The Mirror now state that a deal is off as David Moyes wants Josh King instead.

Other Championship players are reportedly on the West Ham radar, with a new name in the frame judging by this weekend’s rumours.

The Daily Star reported on Saturday evening that West Ham have made contact about a possible deal to sign Watford captain Troy Deeney.

The 32-year-old suffered relegation with Watford at the end of last season, but is a proven goalscorer having found the net 47 times in five Premier League seasons at Watford.

Deeney is a big, strong and robust target man, who has been a fine leader for Watford in the Premier League and could provide another source of goals for West Ham.

West Ham fans have been taking to Twitter to react to the rumours, with some praying that they aren’t true, seemingly believing that he isn’t good enough.

Others believe that Deeney is better than Sebastien Haller and could teach him a thing or two about being a target man, claiming that West Ham should do the deal to sign him.
