West Ham have a history of eccentric players thriving at the club, with the likes of Paulo Di Canio, Dimitri Payet and Marko Arnautovic all becoming talismanic figures for the London side.
And the hope is that if Balotelli was to arrive, his talent could make him a hero with the London Stadium crowd.
