West Ham United supporters are delighted with reports that Manuel Pellegrini’s appointment could help them keep hold of Javier Hernandez.

If David Moyes had remained in charge, it was widely anticipated that Hernandez would have left West Ham this summer.

However, according to the London Evening Standard, Pellegrini wants to keep the Mexican at the London Stadium.

And West Ham fans are delighted with the rumours that Hernandez could be sticking around.

Hernandez endured a difficult first season at West Ham, with Moyes often overlooking him.

The 29-year-old hit eight goals in 28 appearances in the Premier League, but many of these displays came as a substitute.

Pellegrini has already suggested that he will play a more attacking style at West Ham, which could benefit a finisher like Hernandez.

West Ham ended up in 13th place in Premier League table this term, and there is hope that Pellegrini will improve their fortunes next time around.
