West Ham United beat Middlesbrough 3-1 at the Riverside Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
West Ham United made it five wins in the last seven Premier League games as they beat Middlesbrough 3-1 at the Riverside Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The sour taste left from Dimitri Payet’s attempts to leave the club was largely forgotten about with a thumping 3-0 win over Crystal Palace last weekend.
Slaven Bilic took his men to Teesside on Saturday in search of another victory, and they made a great start as Andy Carroll headed home from Manuel Lanzini’s corner.

Cristhian Stuani tapped home from Calum Chambers’ cross to equalise for Boro, but Carroll put West Ham back in front as he turned the ball home from close range after Victor Valdes had parried a Michail Antonio shot.
Whilst Middlesbrough pushed for an equaliser, with Aaron Cresswell’s clearance inadvertently hitting the crossbar off Stuani, but West Ham sealed the win as Jonathan Calleri scored his first goal for the club late in the deal to seal a 3-1 victory.

The result took West Ham up into 10th place in the Premier League table, and a comfortable 12 points clear of the relegation zone as Bilic begins to turn things around after a dismal start to the campaign.
After the game, Hammers fans took to Twitter to react to the victory, and showered midfielder Pedro Obiang with praise after another impressive performance from the Spaniard.
Obiang, 24, was in and out of the side last season following a 2015 move from Sampdoria, but has become a first-team regular this season, and is thriving alongside Mark Noble in the middle of the park.
Obiang was hailed after the final whistle against Middlesbrough, with fans lauding him for his pace and power in midfield, as well as his ability to keep possession.
Others were thankful that West Ham didn’t choose to sell Obiang after a disappointing first season, with some suggesting that he’s a unique talent, and should be in line for the player of the year award after another fine display.
