The former Swansea forward is West Ham United’s club-record signing.
Even Andre Ayew himself will concede his West Ham United career has not gone quite to plan.
The £20 million club-record signing suffered a hamstring injury on his Hammers debut and missed the next two months as a result.
The Ghanaian has been playing catch up ever since, and it took until Wednesday’s visit of Burnley – Ayew’s ninth appearance in all competitions – for him to register his first win in West Ham colours.

With the Irons a goal to the good at the London Stadium, manager Slaven Bilic summoned the 26-year-old as Manuel Lanzini’s replacement, giving him a mere 21 minutes to impress, and he very nearly did so – shooting wide after a purposeful slalom into the box as the game entered stoppage time.

For some West Ham fans, though, the jury is already out on the former Swansea City player, who scored 12 goals and delivered five assists in his one previous campaign on these shores.
Here’s how they reacted to Ayew’s cameo on Twitter – harsh or fair?
