West Ham’s former Leeds United defender has been out with a thigh problem.

Sam Byram made his first appearance for West Ham United in nearly three months as the Hammers overcame Shrewsbury Town in their FA Cup third round replay on Tuesday.
It was only Byram’s fourth senior outing this campaign, and first under West Ham boss David Moyes, having suffered a thigh problem last autumn.
The 2016 signing from Leeds United played 90 minutes at the London Stadium, but was replaced by Pablo Zabaleta as the tie entered extra time.

And though Byram had plenty of time to make an impression on the West Ham fanbase, Hammers fans can’t seem to decide whether he played well or not.
Here’s what they’re saying about the 24-year-old’s performance on Twitter…
After nearly 200 goalless minutes, West Ham’s progression to the fourth round was finally confirmed courtesy of a Reece Burke volley.
It was the 21-year-old’s first goal in 14 appearances for the club at which he was developed.

He recently returned to the London Stadium following a loan spell at Bolton Wanderers.
