West Ham United’s pre-season preparations continued on Tuesday night as they played two friendlies – and Pierre Ekwah stole the show in one of them.

The Hammers sent one team to Northampton Town and came out 2-1 winners against the League Two side.

Another team made the short trip to take on Leyton Orient, but could only come out with a 0-0 draw as David Moyes looks to build towards the Europa League.

The team that faced Leyton Orient featured some experienced players, with Darren Randolph, Aaron Cresswell, Mark Noble, Angelo Ogbonna and Michail Antonio all starting.

There were also starts for new signings Pierre Ekwah and Armstrong Oko-Flex, with the former really impressing.

Ekwah has arrived from Chelsea this summer, with West Ham paying around £1.3million to sign the former Nantes talent.

The Frenchman started in midfield against Leyton Orient, and fans were blown away by the teenager, taking to Twitter to rave about the ex-Chelsea talent.

Some called him ‘special’ and ‘levels above Mark Noble’, believing he he has a ‘big future’ at the London Stadium; Chelsea’s loss may well be West Ham’s gain.
