West Ham United fans have taken aim at Dimitri Payet, after his Marseille side lost to Accrington Stanley in pre-season yesterday.
Accrington pulled off one of the most eye-catching results that is likely to take place in the build-up to the new campaign, and West Ham supporters could not help laughing at their former player.
Payet left West Ham in acrimonious fashion, and is still not a popular figure at the London Stadium.
And Hammers fans were delighted that the playmaker’s return to England did not go according to plan.
Payet gave West Ham some of the most exciting displays they have seen in recent memory during his time with the club, but he has not been forgiven for the way which he left.
Payet has now been with Marseille for the past two seasons, after leaving the Hammers back in 2017.
While Marseille were losing to Accrington, West Ham got their pre-season off to a winning start, as Manuel Pellegrini’s men beat Altach 3-2.
