West Ham United fans have urged the club to walk away from signing Maxi Gomez if the rumours of him wanting to move to Tottenham Hotspur are true.

The Daily Mirror claims that Gomez is waiting on accepting a move to West Ham, as he is hoping that Mauricio Pochettino’s side will come in for him.

And many West Ham fans feel that they shouldn’t be signing Gomez if they are not his first choice.

It would sting to see Gomez move to Tottenham for West Ham, as they have been chasing the striker for much of the summer.

Spurs do have Champions League football on offer though, which puts them in an advantageous position when going up against West Ham for targets.

Gomez’s release clause at currently club Celta Vigo is £43.5 million, and the Spanish side are said to be holding out for that fee, according to the London Evening Standard.

It means that whoever gets Gomez this summer will have to pay big money for him, after he enjoyed a excellent season in La Liga last term.
