West Ham United beat Aston Villa 2-0 at Villa Park earlier today.
Kevin Nolan struck a brace for the second successive game to give West Ham United a 2-0 victory away to Aston Villa.
Nolan scored twice in the space of just two minutes to give Sam Allardyce’s men a much-needed victory and heap the home-woes on their hosts, who continue to struggle at Villa Park.
Good work from Stewart Downing saw Nolan flick on his cross for the first, before the midfielder dispossessed the usually impressive Fabian Delph and fired past Brad Guzan.
Villa had the vast majority of the possession and twice hit the woodwork, but were unable to break down an impressive defensive Hammers’ unit.
The result means West Ham are now 14th, just two points behind Villa in 11th.
