West Ham United are moving closer and closer to sign Marseille defender Duje Caleta-Car, doubling his money in the process.
That’s according to Foot Mercato, who claim that West Ham are on the verge of agreeing a fee with Marseille for Caleta-Car.
It’s stated that Caleta-Car will cost West Ham around €20million (£16.5million), with an extra €5million (£4million) payable if West Ham qualify for Europe again.
Caleta-Car wasn’t keen on joining West Ham a year ago but has now allegedly changed his mind and is likely to sign.
The report even claims that Caleta-Car will no double his wages at West Ham, earning around €400,000-a-month.
That works out to around £77,000-a-week, with West Ham tempting the Croatian over to East London.
Caleta-Car, 25, compares himself to Gerard Pique and has made 12 Ligue 1 starts for Marseille this season, scoring one goal.
A huge presence at 6ft 4in tall, Caleta-Car will bolster West Ham’s defence both immediately and for years to come.
Caleta-Car may not be the only West Ham signing though, as one of his Marseille teammate is also wanted at the London Stadium.

90Min claim that, during talks for Caleta-Car, West Ham have also been discussing a deal to sign Marseille striker Bamba Dieng on loan.
The Senegal attacker has been likened to Sadio Mane and has shown the versatility to play out wide or up front for Marseille.
Dieng, 21, has hit four goals in 14 Ligue 1 games this season and appears to be an exciting talent for the future.
West Ham seem confident of signing Caleta-Car now, and he could end up being joined by Dieng in a late double deal.
