West Ham United are pushing to make a stunning deadline day signing having agreed a fee for Benfica striker Darwin Nunez.
That’s according to Sky Sports, who claim that the two clubs have come to an agreement over a fee for the Uruguayan attacker.
Unfortunately for West Ham, it’s claimed that there are logistical problems that could prevent Nunez from making the move to East London.
Nunez is on international duty with Uruguay and is set to play against Venezuela on Tuesday.
Taking time out to finalise a transfer won’t be easy, though Liverpool did manage to get Luis Diaz’s move sorted whilst he has been with Colombia.
Liverpool did have all weekend to sort that out though, whereas West Ham have just a matter of hours to try and get Nunez signed up.
The Daily Mail note that Nunez is valued at around £45million, meaning this would be a huge capture for West Ham if they can get it done.
That report adds that Tottenham Hotspur like Nunez and have been showing an interest in recent months, so West Ham will be wary of hijack attempts.
Nunez, 22, has been in sensational form for Benfica this season. In 16 league games, Nunez has racked up 15 goals and two assists.

Add in three goals in six Champions League games and Nunez is becoming a complete striker with Benfica.
Tall, quick, strong and with an edge to his game, Nunez has even played out wide as well as through the middle, showing his versatility.
Nunez looks set to become a star for years to come, and his own agent has even compared him to compatriot Edinson Cavani.
This is all very exciting stuff for West Ham fans, and David Moyes will be praying that the Hammers can somehow pull this deal off on deadline day.
