West Ham United have been chasing Everton winger Gerard Deulofeu for some time.

Everton's Gerard Deulofeu

According to a report in Spanish newspaper Sport, Ronald Koeman has decided to part company with Everton’s Gerard Deulofeu.

Deulofeu has shown flashes of quality during his time at Everton, but could not hold down a place in the Toffees’ first-team and could be set to depart this summer.

The winger has been loaned out to AC Milan, and there appears to be no way back for him at Goodison Park.

Everton are now reportedly looking to cash in on Deulofeu, and that could give West Ham United an opportunity to close a transfer they have been trying to achieve for years.

West Ham attempted to sign Deulofeu back in 2013 (London Evening Standard), and their interest was rekindled back in March (Daily Star).

West Ham have always missed out on the Spaniard so far, but they may be more successful if they make a bid in the coming weeks.

And Deulofeu’s arrival at West Ham would have the potential to be a very exciting signing.

Deulofeu is yet to show consistency in England, but he has proven his ability in patches.

The Spanish youngster appears to have every tool needed to be a future star, but he still has some development to do.

And if Slaven Bilic could get the best out of Deulofeu, bringing him to West Ham would be a very smart move for the London club.
