West Ham United and Everton are set to go head to head for Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere.

West Ham United are said by the Daily Star to be willing to match Jack Wilshere’s wage demands, and offer him £120,000-a-week, but they are in danger of being blown out of the water by Everton.

The Toffees are believed to be desperate to land Wilshere in the summer, as his contract is set to expire.

And Everton are preparing a mammoth contract offer to land Wilshere, ahead of West Ham.

The Daily Mail claim that Everton are prepared to offer Wilshere the same wages, but crucially they will include an £8 million signing on fee.

West Ham appear to have no plans to do the same, and that will surely put Everton in an advantageous position.

The Toffees have had a disappointing season, but there can be little question over the ambition they have shown in the transfer market.

West Ham, however, have failed to really show that they mean business in recent times – with their additions being rather underwhelming.

And although they reportedly want Wilshere, it seems that they could well be set for further frustration, with Everton surely ahead of them in the race for the England international.
