West Ham United co-chairman David Gold has praised Josh Cullen on Twitter for the midfielder’s performance for Charlton Athletic against Sunderland on Sunday afternoon.
Cullen was in action for Charlton in the League One playoff final against Sunderland at Wembley Stadium in London.
The 23-year-old midfielder, signed on loan from Premier League club West Ham in the summer of 2018, started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes, as Lee Bowyer’s side won 2-1 to book their place in the Championship for the 2019-20 campaign.
According to WhoScored, the youngster played three key passes, had a pass accuracy of 79%, won two headers, took 81 touches, made one dribble and four clearances.
Cullen played well for Charlton this season, and the 23-year-old midfielder was a key figure in the Addicks’ unlikely but deserved promotion to the Championship.
West Ham co-chairman Gold was following the match, and he was impressed with the display produced by Cullen for Charlton against Sunderland on Sunday afternoon.
