Speaking in his press conference today West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic has expressed his sorrow for Sam Allardyce’s departure from the England management role this week – as reported on West Ham’s official Twitter account.

Allardyce left his role at England following an investigation into corruption in football by the Telegraph which saw Big Sam’s position as national team boss become untenable.

West Ham boss Bilic of course took over from Allardyce at West Ham last summer and he shared a certain degree of sympathy with his predecessor during his press conference this afternoon.

Bilic stated:

Bilic, who has previously been linked with the England job, has seen his own position at West Ham called into question this week.

West Ham lost in the Premier League once again at the weekend, with Southampton putting them to the sword in a 3-0 defeat at the London Stadium.

West Ham take on Middlesbrough in their next match and many are already suggesting it is something of a must-win game for the West Ham boss – whose side are struggling to live up the high expectations they set last term.
