West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic has told Football.London that he has been very impressed by Manuel Lanzini’s form in training and on match days.

Lanzini has had to become West Ham’s main creative force, since the departure of Dimitri Payet.

And he has coped with the increased responsibility well, putting in some of his best performances for the London club in recent weeks.

Lanzini has scored three goals and created two assists in his last seven starts for the Hammers in the Premier League.

And Bilic said: “He likes to take responsibility He wants the ball all the time and when he is on the ball he is a top player with great ideas, skills and options. He sees stuff before anyone else

“He is training really good, playing really good too. It’s not because Payet left that he has improved. The players are giving him the ball more and he is getting available more.”

Lanzini’s excellent form has earned him widespread praise around the London Stadium.

However, the Argentine playmaker’s form has not been matched by his teammates, with West Ham struggling of late.

The Hammers have not won any of their last four matches, and were beaten by Bournemouth in their most recent outing.

West Ham are next in action at the weekend, when they take on a rejuvenated Leicester City side.
