West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic has put his players through a tough training regime over the international break.
West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic has told the London Evening Standard that he is pleased with the efforts of Pedro Obiang, Mark Noble, Simone Zaza and Jonathan Calleri in training.
West Ham’s players have not been given time off over the international break, as Bilic looks to iron out the faults the have been evident in his side’s play over the early part of the season.
West Ham have won just one Premier League match to date, and they currently sit in 18th place in the table.
Bilic is considered, by the bookies, to be one of the most likely top flight bosses to lose his job.
However, the Croatian has responded to the pressure he is under by working harder to solve the problems that West Ham are facing.
And Bilic has been pleased with the way that his West Ham players have reacted to his gruelling training demands.
He said: “We used the time to work on fitness and I am really happy with the way we have trained, with players such as Pedro Obiang, Mark Noble, Simone Zaza and Jonathan Calleri.
“We had many players — about 13 I think — who were away with their countries but we trained hard with those who were still with us.”
West Ham’s first match after the international break comes against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
