Robert Snodgrass joined West Ham United from Hull City during the January transfer window.
Slaven Bilic has defended Robert Snodgrass at his latest press conference, which was broadcast by West Ham United’s official Facebook page.
Snodgrass has come under some criticism since joining the London Stadium, with the Scotland international yet to hit top form.
Snodgrass is yet to open his goalscoring account for West Ham, and he was criticised after failing to impress in Bilic’s side’s last match against Chelsea.
The Hammers were beaten 2-1 by Chelsea, with Snodgrass failing to create much against the league leaders.
However, Bilic insists that he is still happy with the player who he brought in from Hull City during the January transfer window.
“Sometimes it’s very common for a new player, when they change their club, first they make a great impact then they have a dip,” Bilic said.
“If I’m talking about him, he’s done really good for us. I’m happy with him. Statistically he is, with Antonio, the best runner from the whole team. So I’m happy with him.
“The first half of the Chelsea game he was excellent. He caused them a lot of problems. I’m more than happy with him.”
Snodgrass has been a key part of West Ham’s team ever since he joined, but his place in the starting line-up is under threat now.
Andre Ayew has been kept in reserve recently, but could take Snodgrass’ place in the starting line-up in West Ham’s next match.
The Hammers are due to face Bournemouth in their next outing, which comes on Saturday.
