Marco Silva’s Everton side are currently four points clear of West Ham United in the Premier League table.
West Ham boss Pellegrini eventually wants his side to start competing for seventh spot in the Premier League table, but he sees Everton as a threat.
With the top six clubs in the Premier League breaking away from the rest of the division, seventh spot is becoming a coveted place.
And Pellegrini believes that Marco Silva’s Everton side are one of a handful of clubs capable of challenging.
“There are three or four teams who can do it also,” Pellegrini said.
“I think that Everton can also do it, Wolverhampton this year, Burnley and Bournemouth did it last season.
“More of a future target is that we must try to have a style of play that demonstrates we can fight against everyone, and after that, you will see at the end of the season where you arrive.”
Everton are currently ahead of West Ham in the Premier League table, with both sides investing heavily last summer.
Both Everton and West Ham arguably haven’t quite lived up to expectations though.
The Toffees are currently in ninth place in the Premier League standings, while West Ham are in 11th spot.
Everton are four points ahead of the Hammers with just four games remaining this term.
