West Ham United were beaten 4-0 by League One side Oxford United last night.

West Ham were beaten 4-0 by Oxford yesterday, in what was one of their most humiliating nights in recent memory.
The Hammers were also dumped out of the Carabao Cup by League One opposition last season, when they lost to AFC Wimbledon.
But Pellegrini admits that he really didn’t see this West Ham performance coming, as he felt the players had looked committed in training.
“I’m really surprised because when we lost to Wimbledon last season, the team was in a difficult moment,” he said. “Players wanted to not be here and wanted to leave.
“Most of the team tonight, the players are very good. You can feel that in the training ground but really, tonight it it is difficult to have a reason why we lost.”
West Ham never got going, and even after the introductions of the likes of Sebastian Haller and Felipe Anderson they couldn’t get back into the game.

Oxford held firm, as Pellegrini’s men were humbled in the second half of the contest.
West Ham have made a hugely positive start to the season in the Premier League, and the hope is that this result will not derail their campaign.
Pellegrini’s men are next in action on Saturday, when they take on Bournemouth.
