West Ham United’s Michail Antonio and Jose Fonte have both been out injured.

David Moyes has told the London Evening Standard that West Ham United are hoping to welcome back Michail Antonio and Jose Fonte in the near future.

West Ham have suffered badly with injury throughout the campaign, and they currently have a long list of players on the treatment table.

Both Manuel Lanzini and Marko Arnautovic have picked up problems in recent times, which significantly reduces West Ham’s attacking options.

However, Moyes is at least hoping that Antonio and Fonte will be back and available for selection again.

“There is some good news, though. Michail Antonio has done some training this week and we’re hoping he might not be too far away from a return, while Jose Fonte is also back in training,” Moyes said.

“He has been out for 12 weeks, however, so he may need a couple of practice matches before he is ready.”

Antonio’s return will be particularly meaning for West Ham, as Moyes has admitted he is short of options down the right-hand side currently.

Moyes was looking to add a right winger this month, and he may be close to landing his man.

Joao Mario is set to move to the London Stadium, which will mean Antonio faces a fight to win his place back in West Ham’s side, as Moyes has suggested that the 25-year-old could be used as a winger.

West Ham’s next match comes against League One side Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup on Saturday.
