West Ham United are now leading the race for Blackburn Rovers striker Ben Brereton Diaz as David Moyes seeks help for Michail Antonio.
That’s according to a report from The Sun, who claim that West Ham are the new frontrunners to secure Brereton Diaz this summer.
It’s claimed that boss Moyes sent long-time ally Alan Irvine to watch Brereton Diaz ahead of a summer bid.
Brereton Diaz is heading into the final year of his contract at Blackburn and will allegedly cost £15million to prise away from Ewood Park.
It’s suggested that Brereton Diaz’s ability to play out wide or up front is very appealing to Moyes.
That would mean that Brereton Diaz is able to either offer competition for Antonio or even play in the same team by moving out wide.
Sevilla are understood to be very keen on Brereton Diaz, and that has been rumoured for some time now.
Yet with West Ham now favourites, they appear to have overtaken the La Liga side.
West Ham also dumped Sevilla out of the Europa League on their way to the semi-finals, which may just make the more appealing to many players like Brereton Diaz.
Brereton Diaz is though interested in a move abroad, meaning this is far from a foregone conclusion for West Ham.

Brereton Diaz, 23, has been in blistering form this season by scoring 22 goals in 37 Championship games.
He has even added three assists whilst being branded an ‘extraordinary talent’ by Tony Mowbray.
Whilst born in Stoke, Brereton Diaz has switched his international allegiance to play for Chile and has become a star in the South American country.
Brereton Diaz has hit four goals in 12 caps for Chile whilst starring in Pepsi adverts over there.
Moyes is no stranger to shopping in the Championship and will now hope that Brereton Diaz joins with the idea of becoming the next Jarrod Bowen.
