West Ham United want Hugo Guillamon and could launch a move for the Valencia star as they look for another midfielder.

The Hammers had to bring in midfield additions over the summer and duly obliged.

Boyhood West Ham fan Flynn Downes came in to replace Mark Noble in a move that just made so much sense.

Lucas Paqueta then arrived in a big-money move from Lyon to bring some creativity.

However, there will be interest in Declan Rice come next summer and Tomas Soucek’s contract situation is a concern.

West Ham United want Hugo Guillamon

West Ham may therefore need to sign another midfielder in 2023 and it looks like David Moyes is focusing on a defensive option.

90min claim that Ajax star Edson Alvarez and PSV Eindhoven’s Ibrahim Sangare are two players who have impressed West Ham.

The Hammers are looking outside of the Netherlands as well though, with Valencia ace Hugo Guillamon wanted.

It’s stated that West Ham are keeping tabs on Guillamon as they eye a 2023 move for the Spaniard.

Barcelona are also understood to be keen on Guillamon as they target a long-term heir for Sergio Busquets.

Mundo Deportivo claim that Guillamon’s contract – signed earlier this month – has a €50million (£43.5million) release clause included.

Guillamon has come up through the Valencia ranks and has now racked up 80 first-team appearances for the La Liga side.

The 22-year-old is earning interest having impressed both as a centre back and as a holding midfield player.

Guillamon has picked up three Spain caps too, even attracting admiring glances from boss Luis Enrique.

This feels like it would be an enormous coup for West Ham if they can somehow beat Barcelona to the Valencia talent’s signature.

The money involved could be a problem but this – and we hate to say it – may well be a case of West Ham having potential Rice successors in mind before any possible sale.
