West Ham have targeted Adnan Januzaj but the winger instead looks set to join Sevilla on a free transfer rather than reunite with David Moyes.

The Hammers have secured a huge signing by bringing in Brazilian playmaker Lucas Paqueta from Lyon.

This has been a big summer for West Ham with Alphonse Areola, Nayef Aguerd, Thilo Kehrer, Emerson Palmieri, Flynn Downes, Maxwel Cornet and Gianluca Scamacca.

David Moyes still wants more though and the Hammers may even look for another winger after Jarrod Bowen’s low-key start to the season.

West Ham have targeted Adnan Januzaj

One name in the mix of late has been free agent Adnan Januzaj.

Dean Jones reported just a few days ago that West Ham were in talks to sign Januzaj on a free transfer.

It was even suggested that Januzaj had travelled to England alongside former Real Sociedad teammate Alexander Isak, who joined Newcastle United.

Yet whilst West Ham seemingly eyed up Januzaj, it looks like Moyes is set to miss out on another reunion with the Belgian.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Januzaj is set to arrive in Seville tonight ahead of signing for Sevilla.

Romano claims Januzaj will discuss the final details of his deal and then complete his move to Sevilla on Wednesday.

That means Januzaj will be staying in Spain after all, having left at the end of his Sociedad contract earlier this summer.

Januzaj, 27, landed his big breakthrough at Manchester United under David Moyes.

The pair then reunited at Sunderland with Moyes and Januzaj seemingly having great mutual respect.

Another reunion at West Ham seemed to make sense, with Januzaj able to offer competition for Bowen down right flank without breaking the bank.

Instead, Januzaj will be heading to Andalusia whilst leaving Moyes to possibly go back to the drawing board ahead of deadline day.
