West Ham United boss David Moyes decided against a move for Adam Hlozek, believing the Sparta Prague man wouldn’t displace Michail Antonio.

The Athletic claim that West Ham have looked into signing Hlozek before as they continue their Czech recruitment.

However, Moyes vetoed the move because he didn’t think Hlozek could take Antonio’s role in the West Ham team.

West Ham would have likely had to pay big money for Hlozek, and Moyes wants an instant impact player for that cash.

At this stage in his development, Hlozek may not be that player.

Branded ‘extraordinary’ by agent Jaroslav SIlhavy over the summer when West Ham chased a £15million move, Hlozek is something of a wonderkid.

Hlozek is 19 and has bagged 11 league assists this season alongside five goals; right now, he’s more of a creator than a goalscorer.

The Hlozek rumours just aren’t going away though.

90Min suggest that West Ham are still looking at Hlozek for January, but if Moyes wasn’t sure in the summer, would he change his mind now?

Antonio needs support in the West Ham attack, and signing an exciting, speedy attacker like Hlozek would make sense – especially given his huge potential.

Yet with Moyes seemingly not 100% convinced, it may be a surprise to see Hlozek join Tomas Soucek, Vladimir Coufal and Alex Kral at West Ham.

Moyes would seemingly prefer to bring in a ready-made striker to challenge Antonio immediately.

Unless he’s had a change of heart, those Hlozek to West Ham rumours may need to go on the back burner for a while.
