A select round-up of the latest news relating to West Ham United…

A report from the Express & Star on Saturday claimed West Ham United are interested in signing Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Dominic Iorfa, with Crystal Palace, Arsenal and Southampton also in the frame.
However, owngoalnigeria.com is now reporting that a family member has told them the 20-year-old would favour a move to the Hammers ahead of the other alleged parties.

This is one to be taken with a pinch of salt at this early stage, but the website will be taking great interest in Iorfa’s emergence as he remains eligible to play for Nigeria’s first-team despite his success with England’s under-21s to date.
The player, who is predominantly a right-back but can also feature at centre-back if required, has made 68 appearances for Wolves to date.

In other news, L’Equipe reports that West Ham’s pursuit of Nice centre forward Allasane Plea could be doomed to failure with the 23-year-old now extending his contract until the summer of 2019 and having a €40million (£31.3million) release clause inserted into the deal.
West Ham need a new forward this summer but for that sort of money only a bona fide superstar would do and Plea has a long way to go before he can be classed in that league.
