West Ham United are interested in signing Porto left back Zaidu Sanusi before the transfer window slams shut this evening.
That’s according to Porto-based website Mercado Azul and Portuguese newspaper Record as the deadline draws ever closer.
It’s stated that West Ham are expected to come in with force for Sanusi, having been eyeing up a move for ‘several weeks’.
Brighton and Hove Albion also wanted to sign Sanusi, but they have just secured Getafe star Marc Cucurella instead.
West Ham are seen as the major threat to Porto, and a move could gather pace before the deadline as the Hammers are once again linked with a left back.
De Telegraaf reported on Monday that a fee had been agreed for Ajax star Nicolas Tagliafico, whilst Tuttosport claim that West Ham fancy Juventus ace Luca Pellegrini.
Sanusi is the latest name linked, with the 24-year-old dropped in favour of Ivan Marcano at left back against Arouca on Saturday.

The Nigerian has five caps for his country and has been rising through the Portuguese league system with Gil Vicente, Mirandela, Santa Clara and now Porto.
Possessing blistering pace, Sanusi could offer more depth on West Ham’s left side, supporting Aaron Cresswell and Arthur Masuaku.
That’s now three left backs linked in the last 24 hours, and that doesn’t seem like a coincidence as West Ham consider new arrivals.
